Verify your driver

A HopnTravel trip can be hours long. Take a minute before you load your bags.

Before you open the door

  1. Open your trip in the Cohotrip app.Go to HopnTravel, then My Bookings. Your booking shows the driver, the route, the date and time, and how many seats you booked.
  2. Match the driver and the car.The person driving should match the driver on your booking, and the vehicle and license plate must match exactly.
  3. Confirm the trip out loud.Ask where they're headed and who they're picking up. Don't say it first. They should know your name and your destination.
  4. Check the seats. You should be riding in the seats you booked, with no surprise passengers beyond those booked on the trip.
  5. Look for the Cohotrip sign.Cohotrip drivers display a teal Cohotrip emblem on the windshield or rear window while they're driving.
  6. Share your trip.Send your route, departure time, and the driver and car details to someone you trust before you leave.

Something doesn't match?

  • Don't get in and don't load your bags. Stay in a public, well-lit place.
  • Cancel the booking in the app.
  • Never pay cash or pay outside the app. Every HopnTravel seat is paid in the Cohotrip app.
  • If you feel unsafe or are in danger, call 911.
  • Tell us what happened at support@cohotrip.com so we can act on the account.

Why this matters

Every driver on HopnTravel is a background-checked Cohotrip driver with their vehicle on file. A minute of checking makes sure the car you're about to spend hours in is the one you booked.

Pick-up should be at a public spot you both agreed to. Rest stops on the way are normal; changes to the destination are not. If the driver changes the plan, you can end the trip at a safe public place and contact us.
